For the Love of Clothes and all things cute!!!

Im seriously loving this right now!!!! Here I was looking for cute modest church outfits, and look at what I found! Okay okay for all who really do not know me and well if anyone really reads my blog ~ Im a lover of hats and animal print! Nevermind that Stacy and Clinton think they are all that just because they get the big paychecks and would say something about it being all chetah print.... :-) Im Apostolic and proud of it!(sorry of my little rant since I have been on a "what not to wear" kick) Anyway ~ Since the weather is turning into my all time favorite season (fall) all of my hats are cleaned up and ready to be worn! Im so excited! Hats and scarves are my staple in the fall, maybe I can add this outfit and hat to my wardrobe in the near future! (keeping fingers crossed!)

Freedom

This Story us borrowed from Bro. Anderson who pastor's in Percy Arkansas at AFT.
This story touched me so much. I have been in many "freedom" 4th of July Services but have never have had it put so beautifully as this. I asked for a copy of the story that he read so that I could share it with my dear blogging buddies!
I am so proud to be an American and a Part of this wonderful Truth of Jesus Christ!!!
~ Shannon Marie

THE FOLLOWING IS FROM SOGORADIO.COM AS PART OF THE STORY OF HOW THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER WAS COMPOSED.

FRANCIS SCOTT KEY WAS SENT AS AN ATTORNEY TO NEGOTIATE THE RELEASE OF AMERICA PRISONERS OF WAR FROM THE BRITISH WITH ONE BRITISH FOR ONE AMERICAN.
ON THE SHIP HE BOARDED HE WAS TOLD O.K. THEN THE WHOLE THING CHANGED AS 100 BRITISH SHIPS APPEARED TO FLATTEN FORT MCHENERY
All through the night, they pounded that flag and finally at 3 or 4 in the morning, with all that armament spent, the enemy fell into quiet exhaustion and waited for the dawn.
As the dawn came, there stood our flag at the top. America that night had not fallen.
Mr. Key made his way quickly inside that great fort. Once inside, he said he saw no handful of dirt in it’s original place. All of that huge armament had literally torn that fort apart.
Then he saw something that stirred his spirit. The flag, on the rampart, with all that armament aimed at it had been hit again and again. Because of the successive beating, it had dropped and a patriot, a man whose name we’ll never know, whose face we’ll never see, ran from his place of safety and grabbed that flag and held it with his own body.
He knew that all those cannons were aimed at that flag and that pole, but if the colors were down, American was done. He KNEW he would die. And he did die quickly. But another man who saw what he had done, raised from his place and he too grabbed that flag. Then another and another until by morning, what Mr. Key called a cement of human bodies held that flag in place.
Frances Scott Key took a pen and began to write.
“Oh say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light, what so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming? Whose broad strip’s and bright stars through the perilous fight, ore the rampart we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there. Oh say, does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave? O're the land of the free? And the home of the brave?”

• THE FOLLOWING WRAPPED THEIR BODY AROUND THE BANNER AND STANDARD OF SPIRITUAL FREEDOM!

Heb 11:32-40
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

The hill may stay the same... BUT Seasons do change

So I was browsing through all my bloggy friends and came across Joanna Goddard @ A Cup of Jo with a post called "Same Hill Different Day". Go and check it out. There are three pictures taken at different times of the year, but all in the same spot. I was inspired to share this with you.

While looking at the pictures, the thought came to me, of our lives as Christians. You may be in an area of life where the scenery hasnt changed in days, months, years... and are thinking... "One more day like this, ("In this place, With these people, At this Job, etc" ) and I will bust!"

Are your spiritual glasses broken? Has the right here and now taken a toll on your faith? If you keep your eyes on defeat, you will be defeated. ... so If you keep your eyes on the ground you will never see the season around you change.. dont let the devil steal your vision and rob you of YOUR blessing! The scenery may not have changed... but look around... has your season changed?

Relief work, Missions, and Presentations

Last month was my first month talking about reaching out and helping another country. My heart has always been for Foreign Missions and I have been blessed to be involved in 2 overseas trips to do mission work. With that... it had become my life. When I came back from Kenya, Africa I lived, breathed, talked, dreamt Africa and honestly my heart has never stopped in a way thinking of and learning something new from the things God allowed me to experiance and be a part of. With this said, I have wanted to do something here that would benefit the Foreign Missionaries and the people that they are called to in a way that would make an impact... whether organizing and prayer chain, fast chain, sending money, letters, etc... just something. I just wanted to be involved in this and showing others that there is more than the normal (to them) daily routines... So when the earthquake happened in Haiti... I of course with so MANY more saints went into a prayer mode for these precious brothers and sisters. While of course telling my husband we needed to adopt an Hatian baby (this was still while they had the adoptions open and pushing them through...) then wouldnt you know just as soon as my husband said yes for real...they closed all adoptions... well I came across the items that CSI was asking for and I was so excited because I thought man I can do this.. and then maybe if I could get the church involved that would be awesome! So I talked to Pastor after much prayer about this (you know how it is when something is sooooo dear to your heart) and he was excited about it and asked me to get a presentation together and present it to the church! I was so happy that this was happening! and THEN he came back later in this same service and told me that he would like for me to get something together every month about what was going on in the mission field and anything I would like to add. I was totally giddy by then! Jesus had heard my prayer again! I had asked before and well... it wasnt God's timing for me to do this... and then God moved for me when it was his time! Im so thankful to Him! I know this is just the beginning of great things!
I gave my presentation on Feb the 28th. While they were watching the video I made,  There was not a dry eye in the building. I had made up a packet to show the congregation, and I gave them what the Lord gave to me. I only choked up once... it was so awesome! Everyone wanted to be involved and we are going to send 50 personal care kits!. Which is more than double our goal! We are getting together on this Sat at 11:00am in the Fellowship hall to put them together! Im so excited! Im so excited to see our youth involved in this and  Im so glad for what the church globally has done for this cause! I will post on here the pictures from Saturday's effort as soon as I can!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
This is a picture of The Chicago River, on St. Patrick's Day ~ How cool is that!
(would love to see this one day!)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!
Everyone wearing green, and doing something festivious??? This has to be one of my favorites! One because... Its way too much fun to celebrate, Second because..... I have Irish in me, and of course my name is Irish! Mom said she named me after the Shannon River ~ who knows... maybe she told me that to get me to shut up when I was young... lol anyway good thing my middle name isnt river! HA HA yeah mom and I would have had talks about that one! lol
Anyway I usually make an awesome St. Paddys day dinner... but well since we have church tonight its looking like keilbasa and sourkraut for me and sandwiches for the kids... (since they dont like stuff like that) Oh well... :) I have to be creative... Not really sure what has been up with me lately though.. I have had stuff to make decorations for the last few weeks and I just havent gotten around to it so I managed to draw a three leaf clover and hang it in the window along with my green swirly things that are actually supposed to hang outside! AHHH where has my head been??? (me going in circles!) lol
Well now that my window (that everyone sees) looks really ghetto I guess I can try to do what is in my head next year! At least though I have to say... I did wear green... green shirt, green scarf, and my cute little green clover hair clips! I have seen all but ONE person (other than myself) dress normal... My coworkers didnt even wear green!!! What is this world coming to???? LOL  I mean there is nothing on tv either! No Old Irish movies or anything worth viewing!!! My sisters are for sure having a blast in Hot Springs... with the parade going to be going on tonight everyone and everything is deked out with green! Oh well! Guess that is the difference in Manila and Hot Springs... I guess that is what I get for saying that I was going to live in a Big City when I was younger!!! Oh well!!! ~ LOL ~ ANyway ~  I can have a party all by myself! ~ what am I talking about... I AM A Party all by myself!!! Haha!!!  Well you all dont forget to kiss the blarney stone today...

Here ~I made one for you!!!

Now to go and get ready for Church!!!! Everyone have a great rest of the day!!!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!
Lets Celebrate by eating green eggs and ham!!!

My sister Jeri and I went to Sams on Saturday. While we were there we of course had to look at everything, so we came to the book isle and found a whole section to Dr. Seuss.
She found the Green Eggs and Ham book and she made me recite it... since I can still do that almost from memory! She is almost 18 but I can still remember her along with Gabby and Mary running in the room with the book and asking me for the like millionth time to read it... So I got very well versed in Dr. Seussism's :) Although I still had to get her to tell me a couple words, I remembered most of it!! ~ Umm not sure if its really awesome or totally weird that I can still recite the wonderful world of Seuss!??? WhatEVER... Yes It is way awesome!  Ha ha so anyway here we were in the middle of the isle and I was still reciting away and Jeri was almost doubled over in laughter... Umm Shani cant read a childrens book without dramatic expressions and crazy voices to go along with it . So here I am trying to keep it down to a whisper  ~ then shaking my head and saying in a rather loud whisper... "That Sam I am, That Sam I am, I do not like that Sam I am!"  Okay OKay so I was really born to be a Storybook Reteller kind of Person! Do they even pay people to do that? LOL
Any other person would be embarrassed but we had so much fun! Whoever said that reading was fundamental definatly knew what they were saying! The beginning of the word says "fun" LOL .....

So on this day whether you want to wear crazy colors, eat green eggs and ham or get all of your antique collection of Dr. Seuss books out of the closet, sit in the floor and read them all over again. Remember to live life! Enjoy it! Dont take things too seriously unless it is the concerning the Lord.
Open up love someone! Take time to smell the flowers along the path where you walk everyday!

Here are the Top 15 Dr. Seuss Quotes ~

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."

"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

"Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple."

"I meant what I said and I said what I meant."

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

"How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?"

"Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one."

"I do not like green eggs and ham! I do not like them, Sam I Am!"

"I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues!"

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself Any direction you choose."

"From there to here from here to there funny things are everywhere."

Move that Chair!!!

Well the Groundhog may have seen his shadow... but
I saw the first hint of spring at Sam's a couple weeks ago
and had to take a picture of it!!! (Btw ~ I LOVE Tulips!)

Aren’t we all the same for the most part?
I mean we are all human born into sin and in desperate need of a Savior right??? RIGHT!!!
We all need Jesus to come in and wash us and make us clean and fill us with the precious Holy Ghost.
When we come to Jesus with all of our lives... and Repent at an altar ~ go down in water in his lovely name, and speak in tongues when He fills us with his precious spirit... ~ Is that all there is?
No way! It has just begun! What a great journey that we started!
We have our highs and lows and bumps and smoothness along life’s way...
Living for God is by FAR the best life to live... but sometimes you may be wondering where is that (what you have been praying for) ... Have I missed a turn somewhere, God why cant you just come down and show me, or tell me what to do "then I will know it was you that was speaking and NOT me..." (these are the in-between times)
Has anyone ever been there before? Have you been to a point where that mean ol devil has gotten you in a knot in your mind and in your spirit and you just can’t seem to function??? No, you cannot snap out of it as much as someone would like to tell you to, BUT there is an answer it is simply.... move that chair! Oh how sly the devil is... he will start little by little, he may bring a thought your way of discouragement, defeat, despair, etc... and it may not affect you at first...
~ Man you are praying and doing good... so you can rebuke him and go on your way... then he comes again... He is very persistent!
He will do his best to wear you down so that he can get in and if you are not careful and watchful through prayer..... guess what??? Yep.. He will pull up a chair! He will sit down next to you and begin carrying on a conversation (one sided at first) you may push him out of his chair/run him off but wait... you forgot to move the chair! He will be back with another word.. and it’s not a word of courage or stability!
If you listen to him he will start to make you see/believe what he is telling you.. Either through you, your husband/wife, your children, your friends... then you give into his lies and you let him sit there longer and longer. (Remember the biggest battlefield in this world is YOUR MIND)
He will take up permanent residence in that chair... talking to you as long as you will let him!
How long Child of God will let him sit there with the lies and the deceit and the hatred, strife, anxiety, emotional turmoil, hopelessness...
Be Wise! Don’t let him do that to you! Your mind, body, soul, strength belongs to God; don’t let Satan lie to you... You have power (through the name of Jesus!) He can only sit there as long as you let him!
The Bible tells us to Be wise to Satan’s devices...
Do you know the trick that he is trying to use to detour you?
Do you know that he hates to see you happy, and on fire for God!
So he will attack you in every way possible.. and Beware the tricks!

If he doesn’t get you in one.. He will try another!
BUT through Prayer, Reading your Bible, and Fasting... you can stay alert, and aware of what he may try and you can come against him through the (spiritual punches if you will)
that you have been gaining strength to give him the next time he came around.

Prayer will also be the cotton to the ears, the blinders to your eyes and the buffer to your heart and soul lest you are hurt by what you hear, see, and feel.

Now we all know that if we all don’t pray and get spiritually fit "so to speak" if the devil comes at us with a blow we will bruise, we get hurt... but we do not ever have to go down for the count... Get up pray some more, keep going back to your secret place. ~ Then you can block his blow, and he will get the bruise, he will be the one running away!

If you are praying and reading and fasting... Keep doing that! If not... it is NOT too late to start! The day is Not over yet! You may get discouraged at times; you may get down and be weary.. But don’t stay that way... Kick the devil out of the Chair! Don’t let him stay there! And then MOVE THE CHAIR! :)

You know just like the cute little chipmunk (as someone affectionately named the groundhog on facebook) lol He didn’t see his shadow.... but 6 more so called weeks of winter.. (and while yes we are feeling it here) there is something to be said for little puxy-wuddle-wuddle-however you say it...There were cameras, people all around (the devil and his imps) and here he comes out of his little house... okay so he wakes up! (*has the devil ever started first thing in the morning???) Oh yes he has me too!

That’s when you get on your knees right away or start calling on Jesus there in the bed!

Show the devil who is boss! It’s Jesus! He has to answer to him!

Anyway ~ So he comes out and no sunshine???!!!!
"Man I’m going back to bed its going to be cold for 6 more weeks and no flowers yet!"I am sure he was thinking. But little did he know there was a place in little Arkansas that had the most beautiful Tulips (spring flowers) ready for sale..

Has the devil fooled you into thinking that winter will be in your life for a lot longer
than what you want or can deal with?

A flower has bloomed for you already!
Why dont you go to prayer and ask Jesus to let you experience the Fragrance???

Spring is on its way for YOU dear Child of God!

The Snow is NOT fun anymore!!

Well So I loved the snow when it was falling... but alas... I guess Im older and well my husband is a party pooper.... ( okay so as Im running for my life inside because its too cold singing to him... "every party has a pooper thats why we invited you" to him) Im realizing... WHAT.... huh no way.... I so cant be one too!!! When did this happen???? uh maybe in the crazy ice storm last year??? Yup! Thats when it happened for me! Oh dont get me wrong it was beautiful! Soooo beautiful when it was falling and even when I was walking in it as it looks like Lake Effect Snow! Ahhh... but well driving in it is a different matter.... the day after the snow was a different matter!!!
We went to the hospital on Friday because they had called the family up there ( update on Tonya... she is doing really good. She has been up and talking... we are thanking sweet Jesus for a miracle) well I packed an overnight bag because we didnt think we would be coming home and if we did we may not make it home... well we ended up going to Bethels family center! In the Evangelist Quarters nonetheless! That was very nice of Bro and Sis Tidwell to let us stay there. Its funny and I didnt say then... but as I was unpacking our little bag I thought... we are going to be doing that more and more... (so Im not going to try and be funny about how that this is the second year that we had to stay at a family center during a snow/ice storm) Sooooo anywho ~ back to my icey snowy story! So here I am still begging Chris to go out and run through the snow with me... I was just hoping to break him and see him just go running through the cold wetness...
LOL NOT okay so 2 things... He hates Sand and He hates Snow! My goal in life is to show him how much fun it is so that he will like it! (~~~~~~Smack! hmmm dont think he liked that snowball as much as I thought!!!) No.. No hunny it really did fall out of the tree! Well okay back to all the seriousness... I want the snow to go away! Its not pretty anymore! and its really not fun anymore... Its all hard and not fluffy! cant even pick it up! Eww! Although I have been really thinking about how that I totally wanted to be in the Polar Bear club when I was little! I remember telling mom how that I was going to be one of those that went out to Lake Michigan and break the ice and jump in!!! WHAT was I THINKING??? Sure I still would like to do that just so I could say I did it,...but only in my mind!!! lol :-)
Soooo on to something different I will save the next one for a new post... :)

This is my big sissy.... who is so very sick. They do not expect her to make it more than 48 hours.. I really dont want to let her go... but I dont want to keep her from her great blessing either! I pray that sweet Jesus will comfort our family and will give us grace in this time. She is a winner either way... but if I could keep her just a little longer I would love it!

Oh my all the memories that I have... I have only known her since 2007, but I feel like I have all of my life. We have had some great times, fun times, sad times, happy times.... all of the above times! lol I remember the first time I met her... she was sooo happy that her brother found me... She introduced me and showed me off to everyone!  lol This pic was our first Christmas together! This is before she had gotten sick. We all love you tonya so much!

We need a Miracle

God is a miracle worker! He is all Soverign and He always knows best... that is why I am asking you all to please, please pray for my sister in law Tonya. She has had pancreatic caner and sweet Jesus healed her of that... now she is dealing with cancer in her stomach... (its completely gone from her pancreas) She has not been doing good at all the last couple days and the doctor said in his opinion she has about 60 days... she is in so much pain and if God doesnt intervene it could be just any day... We have been praying and we believe that God can raise her from this sick cancer bed! We also know that she has lived way beyond what the doctors have said at the beginning... please pray for our family and for her... for whatever God sees fit.... The doctor said something yesterday that was great and actually profound... mom said that as long as there is breath there is hope... (which I have used this quote before) but he actually took it a step further... As long as there is hope.... there is a chance! So I humbly request for each one who may read this (if you are a believer in that Jesus answers prayers... that you say one for Her (Tonya Thomas) and our family)   She was heavily medicated last night and her fever was very high and we all prayed for her and when we got done she wanted to know if anyone needed the Holy Ghost because she felt the Lord so strong! She may have not been making sense with her words most of the night but here she was still wintnessing! Praise the Lord for the strength and determaination that my big sissy has! I love her soooo much!
