The hill may stay the same... BUT Seasons do change

So I was browsing through all my bloggy friends and came across Joanna Goddard @ A Cup of Jo with a post called "Same Hill Different Day". Go and check it out. There are three pictures taken at different times of the year, but all in the same spot. I was inspired to share this with you.

While looking at the pictures, the thought came to me, of our lives as Christians. You may be in an area of life where the scenery hasnt changed in days, months, years... and are thinking... "One more day like this, ("In this place, With these people, At this Job, etc" ) and I will bust!"

Are your spiritual glasses broken? Has the right here and now taken a toll on your faith? If you keep your eyes on defeat, you will be defeated. ... so If you keep your eyes on the ground you will never see the season around you change.. dont let the devil steal your vision and rob you of YOUR blessing! The scenery may not have changed... but look around... has your season changed?

Relief work, Missions, and Presentations

Last month was my first month talking about reaching out and helping another country. My heart has always been for Foreign Missions and I have been blessed to be involved in 2 overseas trips to do mission work. With that... it had become my life. When I came back from Kenya, Africa I lived, breathed, talked, dreamt Africa and honestly my heart has never stopped in a way thinking of and learning something new from the things God allowed me to experiance and be a part of. With this said, I have wanted to do something here that would benefit the Foreign Missionaries and the people that they are called to in a way that would make an impact... whether organizing and prayer chain, fast chain, sending money, letters, etc... just something. I just wanted to be involved in this and showing others that there is more than the normal (to them) daily routines... So when the earthquake happened in Haiti... I of course with so MANY more saints went into a prayer mode for these precious brothers and sisters. While of course telling my husband we needed to adopt an Hatian baby (this was still while they had the adoptions open and pushing them through...) then wouldnt you know just as soon as my husband said yes for real...they closed all adoptions... well I came across the items that CSI was asking for and I was so excited because I thought man I can do this.. and then maybe if I could get the church involved that would be awesome! So I talked to Pastor after much prayer about this (you know how it is when something is sooooo dear to your heart) and he was excited about it and asked me to get a presentation together and present it to the church! I was so happy that this was happening! and THEN he came back later in this same service and told me that he would like for me to get something together every month about what was going on in the mission field and anything I would like to add. I was totally giddy by then! Jesus had heard my prayer again! I had asked before and well... it wasnt God's timing for me to do this... and then God moved for me when it was his time! Im so thankful to Him! I know this is just the beginning of great things!
I gave my presentation on Feb the 28th. While they were watching the video I made,  There was not a dry eye in the building. I had made up a packet to show the congregation, and I gave them what the Lord gave to me. I only choked up once... it was so awesome! Everyone wanted to be involved and we are going to send 50 personal care kits!. Which is more than double our goal! We are getting together on this Sat at 11:00am in the Fellowship hall to put them together! Im so excited! Im so excited to see our youth involved in this and  Im so glad for what the church globally has done for this cause! I will post on here the pictures from Saturday's effort as soon as I can!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
This is a picture of The Chicago River, on St. Patrick's Day ~ How cool is that!
(would love to see this one day!)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!
Everyone wearing green, and doing something festivious??? This has to be one of my favorites! One because... Its way too much fun to celebrate, Second because..... I have Irish in me, and of course my name is Irish! Mom said she named me after the Shannon River ~ who knows... maybe she told me that to get me to shut up when I was young... lol anyway good thing my middle name isnt river! HA HA yeah mom and I would have had talks about that one! lol
Anyway I usually make an awesome St. Paddys day dinner... but well since we have church tonight its looking like keilbasa and sourkraut for me and sandwiches for the kids... (since they dont like stuff like that) Oh well... :) I have to be creative... Not really sure what has been up with me lately though.. I have had stuff to make decorations for the last few weeks and I just havent gotten around to it so I managed to draw a three leaf clover and hang it in the window along with my green swirly things that are actually supposed to hang outside! AHHH where has my head been??? (me going in circles!) lol
Well now that my window (that everyone sees) looks really ghetto I guess I can try to do what is in my head next year! At least though I have to say... I did wear green... green shirt, green scarf, and my cute little green clover hair clips! I have seen all but ONE person (other than myself) dress normal... My coworkers didnt even wear green!!! What is this world coming to???? LOL  I mean there is nothing on tv either! No Old Irish movies or anything worth viewing!!! My sisters are for sure having a blast in Hot Springs... with the parade going to be going on tonight everyone and everything is deked out with green! Oh well! Guess that is the difference in Manila and Hot Springs... I guess that is what I get for saying that I was going to live in a Big City when I was younger!!! Oh well!!! ~ LOL ~ ANyway ~  I can have a party all by myself! ~ what am I talking about... I AM A Party all by myself!!! Haha!!!  Well you all dont forget to kiss the blarney stone today...

Here ~I made one for you!!!

Now to go and get ready for Church!!!! Everyone have a great rest of the day!!!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!
Lets Celebrate by eating green eggs and ham!!!

My sister Jeri and I went to Sams on Saturday. While we were there we of course had to look at everything, so we came to the book isle and found a whole section to Dr. Seuss.
She found the Green Eggs and Ham book and she made me recite it... since I can still do that almost from memory! She is almost 18 but I can still remember her along with Gabby and Mary running in the room with the book and asking me for the like millionth time to read it... So I got very well versed in Dr. Seussism's :) Although I still had to get her to tell me a couple words, I remembered most of it!! ~ Umm not sure if its really awesome or totally weird that I can still recite the wonderful world of Seuss!??? WhatEVER... Yes It is way awesome!  Ha ha so anyway here we were in the middle of the isle and I was still reciting away and Jeri was almost doubled over in laughter... Umm Shani cant read a childrens book without dramatic expressions and crazy voices to go along with it . So here I am trying to keep it down to a whisper  ~ then shaking my head and saying in a rather loud whisper... "That Sam I am, That Sam I am, I do not like that Sam I am!"  Okay OKay so I was really born to be a Storybook Reteller kind of Person! Do they even pay people to do that? LOL
Any other person would be embarrassed but we had so much fun! Whoever said that reading was fundamental definatly knew what they were saying! The beginning of the word says "fun" LOL .....

So on this day whether you want to wear crazy colors, eat green eggs and ham or get all of your antique collection of Dr. Seuss books out of the closet, sit in the floor and read them all over again. Remember to live life! Enjoy it! Dont take things too seriously unless it is the concerning the Lord.
Open up love someone! Take time to smell the flowers along the path where you walk everyday!
